• Take the Bus

The bus system in Melbourne almost seems tailor-suited to what vacationers might want. We say this because its routes will have you traveling between all the popular and main shopping centers, attractions and schools. You should know that there are different zones you’ll be traveling to and you’ll need what’s called a ‘myki’ card, or its accompanying mobile app, to be able to move around in the buses.

• A Phone Plan is a Good Idea

If you’re going to spend at least a week or more in Melbourne, we advise you to get a phone package from Telstra, the telephone company. These packages have excellent coverage over the whole country.

Tours are Better When Booked as aPackage

Despite the large wealth of fun activities Melbourne has, you won’t enjoy them as well as you should if you don’t approach them the right way. For example, when booking tours, do so via a tour agency or hostel because it’s considerably more convenient that way.

Walking Tours Are Great Too

Riding the bus is a good idea but we won’t advise you to ride it everywhere; at least, not all the time. Substitute the bus for a walking tour once in a while. Such tours are a great way to get some exercise, and you also become more oriented with the city. Of course, you can expect to learn more about its history too, so walking tours kill several birds with one stone.
