Singapore is a haven for culture enthusiasts and a sanctuary for food lovers (it really is!). Seekers of a sunny vacation often flock towards this country too. The attractions to see and things to do are endless, and it’s entirely up to you on how to make the most out of your vacation; but we can help a bit with that.
Diversity and color is what Singapore is mostly known for but you can engage yourself with so many activities in this beautiful country. With that being said, take into cognizance the tips listed below because they can be the difference between a fun, relaxing holiday and a bland, mundane one.
- Mosquito Repellent
This is just a precaution, but a very important one. It’s very unlikely you’ll contract any disease from a mosquito bite while in Singapore but a mosquito repellent could come in very handy if you’re going on the Night Safari; or even the zoo.
In such a case, you won’t have to worry about cursing and scratching all over your arms. Your only focus will thus be on all the beautiful sights and sounds around you.
- Sun Gear
Sunglasses, swimwear and sunblock should be a staple part of the bag you carry to the beaches at Sentosa. You won’t realize how necessary your sunblock is until you’re hit by the hot and humid weather of Singapore.
Don’t be surprised if you see yourself showering at least 4 times a day because of the sweat pouring down your body.
This one should be obvious but you would be surprised at the number of tourists who disregard a water bottle’s importance.
- Water Bottle
Obviously, staying hydrated is a good thing, and Singapore’s blazing heat doesn’t make it easy for you to do that, so it won’t be amiss to pack a few bottles of water and bring them along.
Carry them around when you go sightseeing, especially if you intend to do so on foot. It’s possible you’ll see water coolers in some public buildings to refill your bottles but don’t bank on it. It’s best for you to carry enough water before heading out.
- Antiperspirant
Again, the humid weather makes antiperspirant a simple necessity. Ignore it and you stand a risk of decorating your shirt with wet pits, not to mention body odor. Regardless of how you look at it, it’s going to be a pretty unsavory thing.
You can buy some antiperspirant when you arrive in Singapore but the prices of items in its malls tend to be on the high side, so save yourself some money and bring your toiletries from back home.
